Leni is Home Sick Today

Nothing too serious…right when she was getting ready to go to school she threw up. She’s doing OK but is home with dad today and maybe tomorrow.

Leni had a busy weekend. On saturday a.m. she had gymnastics and then her friend Alex’s bday party in the afternoon at an indoor play area. On Sunday we went to the early show of Beauty and the Beast and then to family day at the Portland Art Museum (Jer did homework all day). Around 4:30 we went to my mom’s for her delicious homemade pizza and Leni was thrilled to see her uncle EE as she calls him. She adores him and is always so excited when he is home. After playing with his niece Uncle went out to play drums in his band Ripper at a club on Alberta Street.

I'm trying to keep my celebrations low-key and modest since it was Jeremy I beat in the final game!

Christmas

Leni has gotten really good on the scooter.

I collect apothecary jars from Belgium and was so excited to get some.

Uncle E got Leni princess stamps which were a big hit.

We had a nice, mellow Christmas. Leni slept until about 8:30 a.m. and then walked into the living room and just said, “He came.” At 9:30 or so my mom and Evan came over with a baked French toast for breakfast and Jeremy made a fruit salad with a mint dressing. We opened presents (Leni had so many she needed to take a break). Around 3 p.m. Mark came over and we opened more presents and took a ride outside on Leni’s new scooter she got from my mom. Then later we went to my mom’s and had a salmon dinner with her and Evan. Leni is just loving playing with her new toys so it was nice to just be close to home.

Dad is a Chaperone Today

Leni has been studying volcanos at Wee Care and today they are on a field trip to Mt. St. Helen’s visitor’s center. Since Jeremy is done with school he signed up to be a chaperone and Leni drove there with him instead of in one of the school vans. She is very excited about having her dad with her all day. They dropped me off at work this morning and went to Random Order for some muffins before getting on the I-5 north to Washington.
